Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari – A Dussehra Banger!

Karan Johar is back with yet another colorful, larger-than-life romcom, and this time it’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, headlined by Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor. The film is a perfect blend of romance, comedy, drama, and vibrant music that makes it a complete family entertainer.

Plot

The story revolves around Sunny (Varun Dhawan), a desi boy-next-door who is nursing heartbreak after his long-time girlfriend Ananya (Sanya Malhotra) rejects his proposal. Soon, Ananya’s family sets her up with suave businessman Vikram Singh (Rohit Saraf), as both families belong to the elite class.

Determined to take revenge, Sunny joins forces with Tulsi Kumari (Janhvi Kapoor)—another heartbroken soul—and the duo hatch a plan to crash Ananya and Vikram’s destination wedding in Rajasthan. Their mission? Pretend to be a couple and break the marriage from within.

What follows is a series of festive rituals, grand ceremonies, quirky plans, and full-blown dance numbers like the disco-inspired “Bijuria” and the peppy “Panwadi” during the engagement sequence. But amid all the chaos, sparks begin to fly between Sunny and Tulsi. What started as a revenge mission soon turns into a heartfelt romance, leading to a predictable yet heartwarming twist—Sunny finds his true love in Tulsi Kumari.

Performances

Varun Dhawan shines once again in his comfort zone—comedy and romance. His comic timing, expressions, and dance moves are top-notch. He is truly the backbone of the film.

Janhvi Kapoor delivers one of her most likable performances to date. She balances charm and innocence with surprising comic timing, and her chemistry with Varun is refreshing.

Sanya Malhotra as Ananya and Rohit Saraf as Vikram play their parts well, adding depth to the love triangle.

Cameos by Karan Johar and Prajakta Koli bring in lighthearted comic punches and laughter.

Music & Direction

The soundtrack is a highlight of the movie, with chartbusters that fit perfectly into the wedding setting. Each ritual is given a unique flavor, with songs choreographed lavishly in true KJo style.

Director Shashank Khaitan (backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions) ensures the narrative is breezy, colorful, and engaging, though a little predictable at times. The grandeur of Rajasthan, emotional beats, and comic timing keep the audience hooked till the end.

Conclusion

Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is a fun, vibrant, and emotional rollercoaster. It may follow a familiar romcom formula, but the execution, performances, and music make it stand out. The audience at the screening was left smiling, cheering, and clapping till the very last frame.

It’s safe to say—this is one of the best romcoms of the year, tailor-made for family viewing, with plenty of humor, emotions, and heart.

👉 Final Word: A must-watch Dussehra entertainer. Varun Dhawan rocks, Janhvi Kapoor surprises, and together they deliver a romcom that steals hearts.
