Yellowstone Film Festival to Honour Uma da Cunha; Hansal Mehta,Shoojit Sircar, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, Nitin Baid Among Masterclass Line-Up

The Yellowstone Film Festival returns to Mumbai from November 13 to 20, bringing with it a line-up of screenings, discussions, and masterclasses that spotlight independent and diverse voices in cinema.

The festival will open with Ananyabrata Chakravorty’s Kaisi Yeh Paheli along with the short film Karupy by Kalainithan Kalaichelvan, both of which have their Asian premiere at the festival.

On opening night, the festival will also honour veteran film curator and writer Uma da Cunha with the ‘Beacon of Indian Cinema’ Award, recognising her decades-long contribution to discovering, curating, and championing Indian cinema and filmmakers on global platforms.

Across eight days, YFF will screen over 100 films, including features and shorts across live action, documentary, and animation. The line-up includes festival favourites such as Aisha Can’t Fly, Caravan, Thinestra, Holy Rosita, and Secret of a Mountain Serpent, among others.

The festival’s programme also features a robust schedule of masterclasses and panel discussions with filmmakers Hansal Mehta, Shoojit Sircar, and Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari. Industry-focused sessions
will include directors Rohan Kanawade, Arati Kadav, Kanu Behl, and Alankrita Srivastava; casting experts Shruti Mahajan and Anmol Ahuja; acting coach Atul Mongia; actor Vipin Sharma; editor Nitin Baid; and Anne Moore, Chair of the Performing Arts Department at the New York Film Academy.
Now an anticipated fixture in Mumbai’s cultural calendar, the Yellowstone Film Festival continues to nurture dialogue between filmmakers and audiences, reaffirming the city’s deep and enduring connection to cinema. By championing both emerging and established voices, YFF stands as a reminder of why Mumbai remains the beating heart of Indian film culture.
