Grand Celebration of Guru Nanak Jayanti at Four Bungalows Gurudwara, Mumbai – Lakhs of Devotees Seek Blessings with Reverence

The birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder and first Guru of Sikhism, was celebrated with immense devotion and grandeur at the Four Bunglows Gurudwara Sahib, Andheri West, Mumbai. Organized by the Gurudwara management and the local sangat, the grand celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Prakash Gurpurab witnessed the participation of over one lakh devotees, who gathered to offer prayers, take blessings, and contribute to community service – marking a day of peace, spirituality, and seva.

Under the leadership of President Jaspal Singh Suri and Maninder Singh Suri, the Gurudwara hosted one of its largest and most serene celebrations to date. The entire complex was beautifully decorated, and devotees from across Mumbai and nearby cities came together to commemorate this auspicious occasion.

Prominent personalities from the film and television industry also visited the Gurudwara to seek blessings, including actress Hansika Motwani, TV stars Prince Narula and Yuvika Chaudhary, fashion designer Rohit Verma, Govinda’s son Yashvardhan Ahuja, action master Mohan Baggad, Kabir Bedi, Soundarya Sharma, and actress-anchor Ekta Jain, among others. The atmosphere at the historic Gurudwara was filled with devotion, kirtan, and the fragrance of seva.

The Four Bungalows Gurudwara Sahib was established on 13 April 1967 by Sardar Singh Suri Ji, who served as the founder and president for 45 years. After his tenure, his son Jaspal Singh Suri has been serving as president for the last decade, and now his grandson Maninder Singh Suri continues to take forward the legacy of seva and spiritual service.

Every year, over one lakh devotees visit the Gurudwara to pay their respects on Guru Nanak Jayanti. It is also the only Gurudwara in Mumbai where langar is served twice daily, feeding around 2,000 people daily and over 5,000 on Sundays. This year, approximately 70,000 devotees partook in the langar on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti.

Beyond its religious significance, the Gurudwara is deeply involved in social service. Under the guidance of Maninder Singh Suri, the Gurudwara has adopted three flood-affected villages in Punjab, providing assistance to farmers through the supply of seeds, diesel, and even supporting community marriages.

Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings – emphasizing unity, equality, love, humility, and selfless service – continue to inspire millions around the world. The celebrations at Four Bungalows Gurudwara were a true reflection of these timeless values, bringing together faith, community, and compassion under one roof.
