NMIC to Host an Evening of Horror Cinema and Discovery on June 13

The National Museum of Indian Cinema (NMIC) is setting the stage for an enchanting and slightly eerie night-time journey.

For one night only, visitors will get an exclusive after-hours access to explore the museum’s galleries — free of cost — from 6 pm to 9 pm.

This special event has been named ‘Night @ the Museum’ and is happening on Friday, June 13, 2025.

The evening doesn’t end there. As the clock strikes 9 pm, the doors of NMIC Auditorium 2 will open for a special screening of Monihara (1961), a haunting short film by the legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray. The film, a part of the acclaimed Teen Kanya trilogy, tells the scary story of a woman obsessed with her jewellery. The lady refuses to part with her ornaments even in times of dire need, leading to unexpected consequences in her lonely mansion.

This cinematic experience, set in the atmospheric surroundings of the museum at night, is bound to thrill lovers of horror, classics, and all things mysterious.

Entry to the museum is completely free, and seating for the screening will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
