In a moment that sent flashbulbs popping and hearts fluttering, R. Madhavan referred to Fatima Sana Shaikh as “Madhubala” and now we know why.
The dramatic reveal came with the launch of the much anticipated trailer of Netflix’s Aap Jaisa Koi, which dropped on June 25th. The film, directed by Vivek Soni and produced by Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment, is set to premiere on July 11, and promises a soul-stirring romantic drama.
In the trailer, Madhavan’s character gazes at Fatima’s and softly utters, “Aapka naam Madhu Bose nahi Madhubala hona chahiye…” a line that lingers long after the screen fades. And fittingly so.
At the grand trailer launch event, Fatima arrived in a stunning pink saree, oozing old-school charm and grace.
With her timeless beauty and classic styling, she looked every bit the modern-day Madhubala.
The actress who is best known for her strong performances is also soon turning to be the queen of on screen romance with three beautiful Romantic films lined up back to back. From Anurag Basu’s Metro In Dino opposite Ali Fazal to Vivek Soni’s Aap Jaisa Koi opposite R Madhavan, both slated for release the same month. Shaikh will also be seen in Manish Malhotra’s production Gustaakh Ishq opposite Vijay Varma which, currently under post production.
