Shalini Pandey Leads PETA India’s ‘Adopt Don’t Shop’ Campaign

Actor Shalini Pandey recently took time from her on going promotions of Rahu Ketu to launch PETA India’s “Adopt Don’t Shop” campaign, an initiative that urges people to adopt dogs from shelters and streets instead of buying them from breeders.
The actor recently unveiled the campaign poster at an event in Mumbai, expressing her happiness at being associated with a cause close to her heart.
Speaking at the event Shalini said her love for animals comes naturally and is rooted in empathy, something that she saw her father do early on.
Speaking about her journey as a pet parent, she reflected on how adopting dogs especially her Indian indie dog, Bir has been deeply fulfilling. “I’ve become a better human being in the last few years because of my dogs,” she said, highlighting the emotional bond and joy animals bring into everyday life.
She also encouraged people to look beyond appearances, she urged prospective pet parents to focus on companionship and connection.
Her “I Love Desi Dogs” T-shirt at the event echoed her belief in celebrating Indian breeds and changing perceptions around adoption. Shalini hopes her association with PETA India inspires more people to give animals a loving home.
