Laapataa Ladies debutant Pratibha Ranta takes a page out of Aamir Khan’s book

Even as she garners praise for her act in her debut film Laapataa Ladies, actress Pratibha Ranta is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that as many people watch the film in theatres. Pratibha took a unique route to promote the film by hitting the streets and personally distributing posters of the film and informing patrons about a special women’s day offer where tickets would be sold at 100₹.

Interestingly, Pratibha’s mentor and Laapataa ladies producer Aamir Khan had used a similar strategy years ago during the release of his debut film Qayamat se qayamat tak. Like the superstar, Pratibha too decided to engage with the audiences and spread the word about the film.

Speaking about her unique promotional strategy, Pratibha says, “We wanted to do something different and more personal to promote Laapataa Ladies. Meeting people, interacting with them and speaking to them about the film has been a very fulfilling experience, I thoroughly enjoyed this way of communication with our audience and the response that I got has been very overwhelming and encouraging” she says.

Laapataa Ladies, directed by Kiran Rao has been unanimously appreciated by audiences and critics alike and boasts of stellar performances by its casts along with a strong message.
